Better Government. Lower Costs. Stronger Warwick.

Warwick doesn't have a revenue problem. It has a spending and planning problem.

Every tax dollar belongs to the people who earned it. My goal isn't simply to cut spendingโ€”it's to make city government operate more efficiently so we can protect essential services while reducing the burden on taxpayers.

Tax Increases Should Be TheLAST OPTIONNot The First Option From City Leaders.

The Challenge

Repeated maximum property tax increases

Millions of one-time funds used to balance budgets

Growing debt from construction of two new high schools

Rising personnel and retirement benefit costs

City & School Departments rarely audited for operational efficiency

Long-term financial planning absent from any fiscal decisions

The Repeating Cycle We Must Break

โ†—

Maximum Tax Increases

$

Record New Spending

โ†˜

Structural Budget Deficits

๐Ÿ›

Higher Debt

This cycle has been repeating year after year with no plan to stop it.

My Four-Step Plan to meet this Challenge

๐Ÿ“‹

1. Analyze all Areas of City Government

We must first understand where every taxpayer dollar is going by analyzing salaries, benefits, overtime, healthcare costs, staffing levels, departmental operations, and the actual cost of delivering city and school services. Good public policy starts with good informationโ€”not assumptions
before property taxes are increased!

2. Create a Financial Review & Performance Audit Committee

My goal is to create a committee to produce long-term financial projections on expenses and income in the city and schools and identify budgetary issues before they become emergencies. My plan will institute audits of city departments to identify wastful practices, develope plans to improve efficiency and save taxpayer dollars.

3. Shared Sacrifice

Everyone who lives, ownes a business and works in the city and schools must participate in solving Warwick's financial problems through mutual sacrifice. With the challenge of building two new high schools costing the city hundreds of millions of dollars and Warwick's debt exceed a BILLION dollars.
Taxpayers and senior citizens cannot share this burden alone!

4. Protect Core Services

Police, fire, public works and teachers will always remain a top priority in Warwick. Making sure those departments have the staffing, equipment and resouces necessary to perform their jobs in a safe, effective and efficient manner will be paramount in my decision making on the city council.

Why This Matters To Me

During my years on the City Council and School Committee, I learned that government works best when decisions are based on facts instead of politics. I've never believed that raising taxes should be the first solution to every problem.

Before asking families for more money, government has a responsibility to prove it is spending today's tax dollars wisely.

Responsible government begins by respecting every taxpayer dollar.

When City Government spends responsibly, every taxpayer benefits through lower costs, better services, and a stronger financial future.
